What is Get Up & Go?
In 1995, I founded the Greyhound Gang - to rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out greyhounds no longer wanted by the racing industry. Rehabilitation is an ongoing concern, as greyhounds spend upwards of 23 hours a day in crates, and they pound their joints and bones with running. In 1999, I was working for someone who provided supplements for humans, and he told me to try Glucosamine on the greyhounds. The change in their ability to move was astounding! Bouncing around, doing 360's, jumping up on furniture with ease - the glucosamine gave their joints and cartilage what it needed to feel better and healthy.

So Get Up & Go evolved. All dogs, and greyhounds in particular need supplements to help their joints stay healthy and pain free. Calcium Ascorbate - Vitamin C
This is Vitamin C, but created to be absorbed more easily by the body. Its trademark name is Ester C. It has anti-inflammatory properties and is essentail for the maintenance of connective tissue, collagen and bone health.

Prozyme
This is a digestive enzyme mix that helps dogs digest their food better. Particularly good for dogs wtih sensitive tummys and for the aging dog. It is important to use with CMO.

Essential Oils - Good Smells
I’ve had hundreds of greyhounds come through my home. I’ve found that their health and happiness is enhanced when I use natural remedies. Spritzers

Lavender
Having trouble sleeping, and staying calm – this is a must have for you. Put a drop on your pillow at night, or on your pjs, near your head, and you’ll hit that pillow and have lovely dreams. It’s the only way I make it through Dewey’s frantic pace. With the hounds, who are pacing, or feeling frenetic, but one drop on the top of each ear, or on the throat, or paws and watch them sleep like babies.

Patchouli
This oil is helps moderate the distress that occurs from changes in their environment.
If they are being babysat, a new dog or child has arrived, a new lover, an illness – it can help.
Take patchouli (and lavender) to the vet to help with that visit. Used for transition of hounds from one place to another.

Joy
This oil helps all to accept what is. It allows you, or your hound, to be in THAT place in THAT moment. It opens you up to experience all around you in a joyous way. I am not an expert. I have no degrees in this field (in a few others, but they aren't very relevant! <G>). But I trust my own experiences.
