Overview

I often have dogs at the Greyhound Gang that just don't seem to want to leave. I mean, who would want to leave? <G> They have 2.5 fenced acres to roam on, soft couches and chairs to lay on, other greyhound buddies to hang with all day -- and me, their slave, to wait on them hand and foot.

The greyhounds that stay are often looking for a little extra love and attention. It could be some medical issue, that requires extra money and time -- like Lady, a shy, Valley Fever girl. Or just an age issue, like SportNLove, an 11-year-old girl used for breeding, with only a few years left to give and get love.

If you'd like to be a "Greyt Angel" and help ensure that these special greyhounds get all they need before they go into their loving homes, then please read on.

It's 2004, and the Greyt Angel program continues to evolve. It was started to help those hounds that needed to stay with the Gang a bit longer before going to their forever home.

Blue, Buster, Smiles, Kenya, Tiger and Marm have all been beneficiaries of your largess. They all found loving homes, and some have left us for even greener pastures.

The current Greyt Angel program still funnels all money received to the hounds - now the hounds at Almost Home for Hounds. They are not on my personal property, but are in Nunn, Colorado under the care of Dr. Heather Weir of Greyhound Connection. I don't often have the ability to take pictures of them, or write as complete, daily stories of them. So the Greyt Angel program has evolved to me sending the Angels stories when I have them. Instead of monthly, you might get a story every other month, or two in one month. You might get my attempts at becoming a published writer - my dream to write that greyhound book that everyone reads and brings much needed attention to the plight of this most wonderful breed. Or behind the scenes at the Greyhound Gathering, or a special hound that Heather is currently dealing with.

I can guarantee that 100% of your monthly donation will go to help the hounds, and that you will be entertained by the stories sent. Or your money cheerfully refunded :)

Become An Angel

Greyt Angels is a program where money donated monthly goes to help special greyhounds that stay longer than a month with Almost Home for Hounds. The Greyhound Gang doesn't take in dogs like we used to - our energies are concentrated on fundraising for AHH. So our stories are now more varied. Not just about one hound, but about the struggles and joy in rescue, my attempts to write THE book that gets on Oprah, the behind the scenes at the Greyhound Gathering and of course, stories about hounds waiting for forever homes.

In return for a minimum monthly donation of $15 or more, you'll get:

  • The knowledge that 100% of the money you've donated goes directly to the dog's care
  • Picture(s) of a greyhound that has been helped
  • Monthly or every other month updates via email about what's happening

To become part of the Greyt Angel program, please click here, and complete the information.

You can also have me charge your credit card monthly, or pay in advance for a certain number of months or a year at a time.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Our last Angel

Marmalade
Marmalade
Marmalade was the last Greyt Angel staying at the Gang. She is now in a loving home, just so happy as she has a boy greyhound to order around.

This is what was written as a Greyt Angel. And her story is still going out to new Greyt Angel sponsors as it's a story worth telling.

This little girl just hasn't been lucky. She was with an adoption group in Virginia for almost three years. She's been with the Gang over two years. She wants nothing more than to find the person that will love her forever. And when she does she will do whatever that person wants of her, as she is just so eager to please. She tried out a few homes when she was younger, but her desire to have company, and her desire to be in charge has her needing a more unique home than some other greyhounds.

She has personality to spare, and adventures still yet to experience. If you'd like to experience them with her, then please consider Marm as your Greyt Angel.
