| Pros | Love everything. No need to pay more for pet model | DC-14 DC-17 $320 refurb; $600 new Enough suction to pull hair out of carpets, upholstery, tile cracks etc. Easy to handle, clean and cute. Incredible vacuum! My 15 year old carpet looks new.Didn't know how much old model left behind until I bought Dyson. Picks up dried mud left by paws and the stuffing from stuffies evicerated by my 2 hounds. | I kid around saying it could suck up one of the cats. I have gone thru one Vacuum a year until I found this one. It's the Beasties of all Vacuums! Could suck up a rodent. Pretty purple. Husband friendly. Really picks up. Attachments for everything. I love no bags. No more cheap vacuums. Never loses suction just as advertising touts and never have to buy bags again! Filter is rinsed with tap water and air dried. Never needs replacement either. Heavy duty cleaning power. Lightweight to carry around. The canister removes easily for dumping in the trash. Picks up hair like a charm. We do pet rescue (cat and dog) and have been through MANY vacuums. For us, it's Definitely Dyson! We replaced cheap vacuums every few months. No longer! Big Lots had refurbished models, with full warranty. Durability & Suction can't be matched. We have huskies and greyhounds. The stuff it picks up! Beats my Oreck hands down, and I was an Oreck fan. We have 8 dogs, and this picks up more hair than any others. We burned out a vacuum a year before Dyson. It's 5 years old, and works as good as new. Heavy duty power cleaning, but lightweight to carry. Canister removes easily. Picks up hair like a charm. We do pet rescue (dog & cat), and for us it's definitely Dyson!

| Cons | Awkward to get accessories | DC-14 - Heavy for climbing stairs with. Telescoping wand awkward. Unit can fall over. Would prefer ball bottom unit. Cup fills up quickly because of extreme suction. |
Heavy. Expensive initial outlay. If you're short, a little hard to move up stairs. Attachment tools difficult to use. |
