Matisse
-- Mary Porter, Las Vegas, Nevada
Matisse has found new brothers and sisters -- of the canine
variety. She tried out three other homes in her six years off the track, and
through no fault of her own, needed a fourth. She's an eight-year-old, brindle
girl who is as full of herself and mischief as she was when she was two. She'll
keep her new family busy, and we hope, happy with her!

Buster
-- Burke and Tiffany Swindlehurst, LaVerkin, Utah
What a character! I don't know how old this handsome, small,
brindle boy is as his ear tattoos are rubbed off, but I think his chronological
age is around 8, and his mental age is about 3! He just loves to check everything
out, and spent his first few minutes running with Smiles around and around the
house. He's very affectionate, expressive and well-behaved. He was dumped in
the pound a few years ago, rescued, placed in a home, and now abandoned by that
home because they said he likes to escape. He has made no attempt to escape
here, though, and the special guy is just looking and hoping to spend his last
few years with someone who can provide him stability and love. This guy is a
lover. He likes to snuggle with you, go in the car and generally hang out where
you are. He is cat safe. A bit arthritic, but loves to go for walks.

Blue
-- James and Kathy Nowak, Las Vegas, Nevada
He's a gorgeous six-year-old boy, and he needs a special home.
Blue is a mix of macho and sensitivity. He wants to play -- a lot -- but he
has some track injuries that means he needs to be watched when he plays. He
is the only greyhound I've ever seen that will retrieve forever. And he is very
INTENT on his retrieving. It's why he raced for so long. But this also means
he cannot be in a home with any other small or medium size animals. He listens
very well, and very much wants to please, but when those centuries of instinct
take over, he needs to chase.
Read Blue's story.

Night -- The Scotts,
Las Vegas, Nevada
Night is in a home where the people have refused access to the
Greyhound Gang to check on him. We have tried mediation, lawyers and offers
to pay for him to get him back. All efforts have failed, and we feel we have
failed Night. We adopted him to the Scott's in good faith, but they will not
abide by the contract.
He is the perfect greyhound. Cat safe, kid safe, and absolutely gorgeous to
boot. This midnight black boy steals your heart. He loves to go for rides in
the car, and needs walks every day. He is also very insistent about hanging
out on furniture. We pray every day that they are taking good care of him because
he deserves it, and we miss being able to answer questions, and insure that
all is well.

Goldie
-- Rick Marshall and Ken Wilson, Las Vegas, Nevada
Golden Goldie is the only way to describe this sweetheart of
a girl. She's smart as a whip, sweet as sugar candy and loves everyone, including
little dogs and cats. She wags her tail incessantly, and is eager to be given
love and attention. She likes to be in charge, what old gal doesn't :-). She
likes to have a routine. And she likes love. She is in excellent health, though
her teeth need to be brushed often, and has a lot of energy to expend for her
age. She's not crazy about cars and kids, and would probably prefer a home where
she doesn't have to share too much of the love and attention. She's had two
homes we know of -- one with a human that just couldn't keep her anymore although
they loved her; and one with a therapy home that also loved her, but she didn't
really like the little children that would come and visit and try to hug all
over her. Could you open your heart and let Goldie find her forever home with
you?

Linlea
-- Nancy Danforth
A happy-go-lucky guy who knows what he wants and usually gets
it because he knows he deserves it. With one blue and one brown eye, and a white
and brindle honed body, he is the center of attention where ever he goes. 6
yrs old, and about 75 lbs.

Lumina
-- Becky, Jason and Chase Butts, Las Vegas, Nevada
Luminous -- the giving of light -- fits this little girl's personality.
Her coat of light, a very soft white and blue, frames this 7-year-old girl's
round eyes and small face as she looks trustingly at you. She will bring light
to any adopter's home. She's the kind of girl who, though gorgeous, doesn't
flaunt it. The kind of girl who wants to be loved, but doesn't overtly request
it, thinking it's not her due. The kind of girl who would appreciate a good
home.
Read Lumina's story.

Josie -- Sally and
Joe Hogue, Las Vegas, Nevada
Originally known as Peanut, this little 2-year-old girl is full
of spunk and sweetness. Her dark brown doe-like eyes look directly into yours
and ask, "Will you love me?" Dark brindle with a white line down her nose, Josie
exudes a mellowness that belies her age. Being a girl, Josie loves attention
which can include sleeping in your bed. She likes kids, other dogs and cats,
but does need a home with a doggie door, as she also likes the outside and the
ability to pee and poop on her schedule.

Dominic -- Stuart
Martin, Las Vegas, Nevada
This sweet, gorgeous 2-year-old youngster was going to be killed
by his adopted owner, at the recommendation of the breeder. Adopted at the age
of one, he'd been left unattended and unloved, and exhibited high prey drive
by killing two cats. He's been here for over a month, and is now neutered, bathed,
dentaled and is behaving himself beautifully in and out of the house. He has
never messed in the house, chewed on anything he shouldn't have or growled at
any of the dogs. He is very smart, and you'll need to stay a step ahead of him.
He is curious, as all youngsters are, and likes to be with you (preferably in
your bed), as all greyhounds do. He has those amber eyes surrounded by sleek
black hair that beg for a chance to be loved.

Gus
-- Kim Jones and Scott Paton, Las Vegas, Nevada
To die for. This big, handsome, blue fawn boy is the classic
gentleman. He doesn't like changes to his routine, and will reward you with
a smile when he feels secure. He asks before he does anything, he's not crazy
about kids, he's cat safe, though loves to chase. At 8 years old and 85 lbs
of sweetness, he does have some mobility issues that will need supplements daily.
He's a big mush man, and the best!

Red
-- Rick Marshall and Ken Wilson, Las Vegas, Nevada
This striking, red brindle boy raced his heart out for a year,
then blew out the ligaments in his back leg and was slated for death by his
owner/breeder. The trainer, who cared about him, rescued him and contacted adoption
where Red received the extensive medical care he needed. He just got the cast
off after 6 weeks, and the plate in his leg will need to be removed months into
the future, but for now he just needs to stay quiet and let the joints fuse
and his leg heal.
This 3-year-old, 76 lb. guy has taken his injury and extensive medical care
very well. He's one of those rare guys who does pretty much whatever you tell
him, with a greyt attitude and a lazy, good-looking guy smile.

Phillie, now Sabra
-- Marilyn and Bob Coutinho, LaVerkin, Utah
Phillie, a 1.5 year old, beautiful white with brindle patched
girl, loves attention and cuddles. She also loves your furniture, and is most
happy when snuggled up with you. She plays well with other dogs, and is most
likely cat safe, though all introductions should be made carefully.
She has severe separation anxiety, and so you'll need to work her through that,
as she will damage items if she gets stressed when left alone. She can get very
rambunctious when she's excited, as she's still a youngster. But she likes to
just hang out too, and will reward your devotion with tons of her own.

Willie
-- Kim and Bill Frederick, Las Vegas, Nevada
Lightly brindled boy, 2.5 years old and about 74 lbs., who is
Mr. Personality. He smiles, he plays, he follows you everywhere. He is very
sweet, very active and anything goes with him. He still has his puppy coat,
and lots of his puppyish ways. He'll need constant attention for a while, and
lots of toys and chews to keep him busy. He's cat safe and loves kids.
