Shredder - now Smiler
-- Ione and Jim O'Donnell, Ivins, Utah
What
a happy and good-looking boy this is. A former blood donor at CSU for years,
and in a home for some of those, he was given up because the family had a baby.
No fault of Shredder's, and he is just happy to have his neck scratched, and
hang with you. He has a lot of energy, and is only nine years young. He got
his name when he was younger, as his energy level dictated that he shred any
paper within his reach. He has lost his taste for that delicacy, however.

Summer Rain -- Tiffany and Burke Swindlehurst, LaVerkin, Utah
Pretty near perfect, this red brindle, 4-year-old girl is looking
for a forever home. Smart, sweet and sassy, she's interested in everything and
everyone. She fancies herself a bit of a guard dog, as she has barked at noises
here. She likes kids, cats, and other dogs. She also knows how to sit and give
you her paw - like I said, a smart girl! She does want to be THE girl, so her
forever home would have lowly boys to play with. She can play a little rough
with other dogs - though most boys tend to like it that way! She has been living
in a home for 2 years, and knows the ropes of home life. She was returned for
no fault of her own.

Tessy
-- Penny Manly, Las Vegas, Nevada
Quiet, unassuming, pretty Tessy is asking nothing more than
that someone let her live her last golden years with love. She's a big (65 lb.),
lightly brindled, 10-year-young girl who likes stuffed animals, kids, guys and
girls. She loves to go for walks, and hang with you, and nothing really fazes
her, though in her twilight years she would love a home that loves her. She
was abandoned with her two other companions at an animal shelter in Vegas.

Guerro -- Terri
Vincent, Wyoming
Built like a
thoroughbred, all lean muscle, length and lankiness, this beautiful white and
fawn, 2-year-young boy wants nothing more than to be a couch potato in your
home. His joy in life is infectious, as he approaches everything as fun. He's
young and needs a bit of exercise daily, and would do well in a home with another
animal. He's reasonably OK with cats, and small dogs, though because he's young
he needs supervision and direction. He's likes his own space, so probably wouldn't
be best in a home with young children. He has a skin disease that we think is
immune mediated. It results in a scaly, crusty nose and crusty feet. We're working
on a medication regime and it doesn't appear to affect his joy in life - just
his good looks!

Gracie
-- Doris Roesch, Wyoming
A young pup at 1.5 yrs., this very active, very in-charge, mischievous
(nawty), long, lanky, yet still petite, brindle girl needs a home where she
will get lots and lots of room to roam and be the girl! Her build is a bit different
from greyhounds that have been raced, as she has a super model's build. All
legs, neck, and long back, without the muscular development that steroids and
racing will bring about. She's lived since 3 months in a foster home. She is
pure girl as she knows her own mind, and that mind demands that she be a total
member of the family. All furniture is hers by birthright, all attention is
hers just because, and she needs a buddy that lives to play with her and needs
her walks, off leash, for miles to keep her energy level under control.

Al
-- Joe and Sally Hogue, Las Vegas, Nevada
Mr. Personality is the only way to describe Al. I'll be working
at the computer and he'll come and place his front paws in my lap and lay across
it...forever. He also thinks he's a wonderful conversationalist, as he usually
has something to say about everything. And you can see he's very handsome with
those black spots and white ticking. He's nine and looking for his forever home,
having tried out four of them - not one return his fault - he's just not very
lucky. He likes kids, cats, and yes, can even do rabbits. One bad habit, though,
is when walking him on leash he can sometimes take exception to other dogs.

Red
-- Shalise and Doug Jensen, Heber, Utah
This 12-year-old,
red fawn boy just desperately needs someone to care for him. He is, if not all
deaf, then mostly deaf. He has these really big, round eyes that just look to
you for attention, love and direction. He is huge, and needs to lose about 20
lbs, and this weight is causing him mobility, breathing and skin issues. We'll
be working on those issues, and hope they are not life threatening to him. He
is currently getting Adequan injections, and is on a very limited diet. We removed
most of this teeth last year, but that hasn't stopped his desire for food. If
you looked into this boy's eyes, you'd see a soul asking only to be loved.

Smiles -- Carla and Chris Brewer, Las Vegas, Nevada
This is a very
special boy. He is sooo loving, and sooo smart, and sooo sweet. This makes him
very attentive to people. He really needs HIS person. A person he can please
and adore and be with as much as possible. Background: Born in Colorado, as
a pup on the farm he fractured a bone in his front ankle. He received no vet
care, and so his body continued to grow, and the fracture healed on its own...crooked.
Slated to be killed because he couldn't race with his leg like that, a farm
worker took him home and kept him with a pit bull in her backyard for a year.
While there, he was shot with a B-B gun, and has some pellets lodged in his
shoulders. He was no longer wanted when she had a child, and came to us.
