Jet -- The Wimmers,
Logan, Utah
Black with white socks and white-tipped tail and white chest.
68 pounds. Little pointy face. Very playful and likes to lick faces. Very adaptable,
accepts everything new around her quickly and easily. Stairs in one day. Likes
to toss toys around. Very inquisitive. Wakes up in the middle of the night and
wants to play. Never peed in the house. Will try and get food from counters.
Not that sensitive to reprimands.

Coon Dog -- The
Meuirs, Las Vegas, Nevada
Very
cool markings. White with gray/butterscotch brindle patches over both eyes.
Patch on middle of body and on tail. 70 pounds. Very sensitive, reserved and
cautious. Puts his head in your chest and gives you sad looks. Chases a tennis
ball. Learned stairs in one day. Initally scared of walking on the deck. Gave
me a smile today!! Starting to come when called. Will be very devoted to one
person. Likes little dogs to play with. When playing, he's a very animated dog.
Listens totally to you when you tell him no.

Bingo and Shep --
The Browns, Las Vegas, Nevada
Bingo: Red fawn. 76 pounds. Loves kids and is very playful.
Is all over them when they come over, kissing their heads, hair, anything he
can get near to. Very mischievous. I crated him most nights. Likes to tear up
things, and is very food oriented.
Shep: Very young red fawn with black masked face. Male. 70 pounds. Doesn't
quite know what's up yet. He doesn't respond to name, but will stay by your
side all the time. Is very food oriented, and doesn't respond to NO very quickly.
Just needs to learn the ropes and what life is all about. Is really very sweet,
calm and will be totally devoted to someone.

Checkers -- The
Caridads, Las Vegas, Nevada
White
with large brindle patches. 80 pounds. Big guy with lots of love in him. Likes
to just hang out and be petted. Initially would go down stairs, but couldn't
figure out how to move back legs to get up stairs. Would stand forlornly looking
at me from bottom of stairs. Woke me up to go out at least two times a night.

Tavern
-- The Materns, Sandy, Utah
Dark brindle with white spot on nose and paws and a very long
body. 72lbs. Very reserved initially. First one to do stairs without any assistance,
and then promptly pooped and peed in the house. Took my scolding to heart and
didn't talk to me for two days. Stayed a bit apart from the others, though not
shy. After a few days, started to smile and greet me when I arrived home. Has
gotten very mischievous as he gets more settled. If I put something down, he
takes it and moves it somewhere else. Easy-going, no problem with other animals.

Mickey
-- The Hanks, Las Vegas, Nevada
First dog to find the couch and the bed. Loves to lay around.
Sleeps through the night. Dark brindle. Very easy-going. Cat safe. Loves the
car.

Commander
-- Catherine Finnegan, Las Vegas, Nevada
Black with white chest. Mr. Perfect. Stocky. Smart. Tail curls
around at the end, very cool. Very attentive and easy going. Was very scared
taking a bath. Think I saw a smile on him. Likes to be where it's cool. Lays
outside a lot and on the rocks. Loves to have his neck massaged.

Jet -- The Atiyehs,
Las Vegas, Nevada
A
tough lady. Wouldn't go down for anethesia. Is an alpha. Eats a lot. Smart.
Nothing stops her. Very active. Steals items and chews on them. She's not going
to take anything from anyone. Very independent. Very friendly and loves attention.
Will move all other dogs out of the way to get it.
July 1995

Yukon -- Donna Palmer,
Las Vegas, Nevada
Gangly,
long, light brindle with distinctive stripes on face, back and tail. 74 lb.
Very playful and puppyish and sweet. Always into something if I'm not watching
him. Destroyed my down pillow, my diffuser, boxes of Kleenex, magazine. Obviously
needs a lot of exercise and bones to keep him happy.
October 1995

Jennie -- Kathleen
and Robert Reynolds, Las Vegas, Nevada
Pretty
orange-black brindle with four white feet. 51 lb, now 57 lb. Very curious, though
sometime acts shy. Loves to play and do 360-degree spins. Approaches you and
then shies away, and then comes back again. Is initially tentative when dealing
with you, but with patience, time and love comes around. Barks. Gobbles food.

Kaibab -- The Grosz
family, Kanab, Utah
Gangly,
gorgeous, gigantic tiger-brindle male. 69 pounds. Very soulful and sweet. Absolutely
knows a good thing when he sees it, as he made himself at home immediately by
taking over the sofa and bed. And then he promptly rolled over and fell off
both!! Very curious, will take shoes and papers and move them, though he has
not been destructive (except with the fly swatter). Loves chew bones. A very
big kid, that can be stubborn at times. Loves attention, great to take anywhere,
though you have to pick him up and put him in the car. Watch initially for possessiveness
about space.
November 1995

Cowboy -- The Russells,
Las Vegas, Nevada
Gangly, gorgeous, gigantic dark brindle. 66 lb. Cautious and
hesitant, but really wants and needs love. Very thin, needs extra attention
with feeding. Supplement food with hamburger, rice, puppy food. Very easy-going.
Will need time to feel comfortable and secure, but once he does, he'll be yours
for life.

Sunset -- Chris
and Cynthia Talbot, Las Vegas, Nevada
Black-and-white female. Very unassuming and quiet. 57 lb. Goes
to her corner and you don't even know she's there. Initally acted as if she'd
been abused. Head and tail always down. But within two days, once she felt she
could trust you, she became very friendly and happy.
December 1995

Mirage -- Tracy
Jenish and Al, Las Vegas to Newton, PA
Mirage
is a dark fawn male, with German Shepard-colored face. 67 pounds. A bit spooky,
and will startle at sudden noises and movement. Needs a few weeks to feel comfortable
and then becomes very affectionate once he knows and trusts you. Very sensitive
to voice and eager to please. A lot of patience and time is required. He will
be a one-person dog once he trusts. Not a leader as he'd rather follow other
dogs. Very messy eater, as he gets nervous while eating, and the food falls
out of his mouth.
