March 1997

Cody and Cassidy
Cody and Cassidy -- Lee and Jan Robinson, Sandy, Utah
Rainbow BridgeCody: Big, gorgeous, black boy. 75 lb. 2 1/2 years old. Listens really well, and is still in "Where am I?" shock. Looks at me like I'm an alien. I can hear his mind going, "Why is she hugging me? How come there is all this food available? Which bed should I lay on now?"
Rainbow BridgeCassidy: Petite, dark brindle girl. 53 lb. Very sweet and initially timid. She wags her tail at me, but is sometimes shy to come over and get hugs. As each hour passes, she's realizing she can't do anything wrong, and recently ran around the yard, encouraging the other dogs to play.

July 1997

Nick and Norma
Nick -- Karl Hahn, Las Vegas, Nevada
Rainbow BridgeA sweet fawn boy who wants nothing more than to just be - be in a world where life is good. He made it to 14, when he decided that after Norma left, he had to go be with her.

Rainbow BridgeNorma -- Karl Hahn, Las Vegas, Nevada
A sweet, brindle girl who will take her time to trust, but when she trusts and love, she does so forever.

Honey
Rainbow BridgeHoney -- Michelle and Marco Garcia
Black with four white feet and a white ticked chest. 66 lb. Very active and fun loving. Very young, so gets into things. She likes to put stuff in her mouth, very curious about everything. Likes to be outside. Is a guard dog and will bark a lot if she thinks she hears something. Very independent. Will growl at other dogs and is bossy. Very territorial about her space and her food. Adores kids, but is not cat safe.

August 1997

Foster
Rainbow BridgeFoster -- Carla Lescosky and Chris Brewer, Las Vegas, Nevada
70 lb., white with red brindle spots, sweet, and silent type. Wags his tail and is interested in things, but is also very cool about being too demonstrative too soon. Cat safe. Toe broken and healed sideways, so limps at times.
Rainbow BridgeSchuylkill - Great Dane Extraordinaire

Rippen
Rainbow BridgeRippen -- Mary Lou and Harold Mountain, Las Vegas, Nevada
This petite little black girl is a squiggle of love. Very attentive and sweet, she follows you with her helicopter tail going round and round. Loves to sleep in the bed right next to you, gives you a big greeting when you come home and will try any food you'd like her to. Cat safe. Came off the track with a major flea allergy, so her hair and skin need time to heal and grow.

October 1997

Coco
Rainbow BridgeCoco -- MaryRose Sloan
Black female with white chest and two back paws. Very playful, friendly and energetic. Loves kids and other dogs. A chewer, initially, because she was insecure. She stopped though after two days. Wants to play all the time, needs toys and chews and distractions.

Lacey
Rainbow BridgeLacey -- The Houges, Las Vegas, Nevada
Two-year-old, fawn brindle female with a big smile. She loves to play, sleep on the couch and steal anything not tied down. Endearing and fun, she barks, loves toys, will jump on you, is active in the morning, smiles, and is really Ms. Personality. Her feelings get hurt very easily, so be careful about reprimands. If she doesn't want to move, she won't and there's no telling her anything else. Travels well in car. Cat safe.

Becky
Rainbow BridgeBecky -- Glenn Gamer, Las Vegas, Nevada
Gorgeous 2-year-old white-and-black female with boundless energy. She just leaps and bounds all over the place, and doesn't like to stand still for anything. Plays with toys and chews and will steal items and take them outside. Very interested in everything, and is very smart, as she learned the doggie door by herself. Very food oriented. Cat safe. Barks and makes snorty noises like a horse. Travels well. Was scheduled for use as a terminal surgery dog at CSU, but saved by vet student.

Lady
Rainbow BridgeLady -- Carla Lescosky and Chris Brewer, Las Vegas, Nevada
Read Lady's Story

Moon
Moon -- Pat and Mary Jo Hultman, Las Vegas and now Wisconsin
Four-year-old, tall black boy. Currently quiet, he's just checking everything out before he lets his true personality show -- which is sure to be sweet and fun! He loves playing with and hoarding his toys and compressed rawhide chews. Exudes a solid, secure, loving presence. Once he decides he's safe, he'll be your best friend. Travels well in the car. Not cat safe.

Lady
Lady -- Frank and Jean Mitrani, Las Vegas, Nevada
Five-year-old, red brindle female. She's a wiggle of love, who, though initially hesitant when she meets strangers, will practically leap in your arms to be loved once she feels safe. She's claimed the oversized chair and ottoman and only leaves it if you can offer her something better. Cat safe. Smiles. Wags her tail in helicopter fashion. Travels well.

November 1997

Forman
Rainbow BridgeForman -- Sharon Townsend and George Fedleski, Pahrump, Nevada
Big, black male with white chest, white tipped feet and tail. Very quiet, unassuming and sweet. Follows you everywhere, but is very innocuous about it. Took a few days to wag his tail, and learn to relax in the car. But he's the kind of guy who is going to do everything nice and slow and make sure he can trust what he sees. Will bond very strongly once he trusts. Not cat safe.

Keno and Brin
Keno and Brin -- Delane and Al Williams
Rainbow BridgeKeno: 70 lb. red brindle male. Cat safe. Initially hesitant, but very sweet. Looks around as if taking it all in, and he can't believe it all. Listens well, comes when you call. Chewed on a wooden table corner the first day. Loves to lay in the kiddie pool and be outside. You have to lift him into the car.

Rainbow BridgeBrin: A very sweet, four-year-old, tiger brindle girl. Brin is interested in all around her, though will be initially hesitant. She's used to being very spoiled, and needs to lose a little weight. When she was two years old, Brin was rescued when the Greyhound Adoption League overheard her trainer say she was going to put her down because she had epilepsy. GAL said, "Let me check her out for a few days". That trainer had been spraying flea spray directly in her ears, and that was why she was shaking her head all the time. She did not have epilepsy. The Greyhound Gang took her home the following day.
